WangFest Time Trials Guidelines and Open Track for May 27th 2013 at Gingerman Raceway

WangFest TrackEvents Rules and Regulations

Introduction
WangFest is a grassroots Midwest Trackday organization. What started as just a small gathering of friends renting out the local track has become a regular trackday hosted 3 times a year at Gingerman Raceway. Our format and atmosphere can only be described as “different” when compared to your average HPDE. At a WangFest Trackday you will find a fine mix of cars, a very loose but safe track environment, and quite possibly some of the best track time bang for your buck. Now we enter 2013 with a new mission in mind, hosting time trial events!

Time Trials
WangFest Time Trials is a new series for 2013. We are hosting 3 events this season at Gingerman Raceway that will incorporate open track time for experienced HPDE drivers ( No beginners and no instructors), practice sessions for Time Trial participants and light traffic segregated timed sessions for Time Trial participants that will be grouped accordingly by lap times. Timing and Scoring will be handled by WangFest TrackEvents and the Gingerman Raceway staff. Transponders and timing related equipment are also handled and rented out exclusively by WangFest TrackEvents. AMB units, Traqmates, AIM units or any other equipment not provided by WangFest TrackEvents will not be counted for valid laps. Timed laps must be recorded and scored through the equipment provided by WangFest TrackEvents only.

Open Track Time
WangFest will be providing about 40 to 50 open HPDE spots for those not looking to enter Time Trials competition. These participants will be divided into 2 run groups in 30 minute sessions. HPDE participants will not be on track at the same time as Time Trials participants. Timing is optional for participants, but will not be counted towards TIme Trials. HPDE participants have the option to move into the Time Trials groups to compete as long as there is room and the change is done before Time Trials timed sessions begin. A fee will apply.

Classes and Rules for Time Trials
Like many other TIme Trials/Time Attack events, we have separated our groups by both drivetrain layout and vehicle modifications. Drivetrain layouts are FWD (Front Wheel Drive) , RWD (Rear Wheel Drive), and AWD ( All Wheel Drive). Each drivetrain layout will have a class for Street, Modified and Unlimited. Each class is defined in the ruleset. Time Trials participants may only enter their car in one class per event.
